Sense Proteomic, a subsidiary of Oxford Gene Technology, is a biomarker discovery company using its proprietary protein array technology to discover biomarkers of cancer and autoimmune diseases. Our technology enables thousands of human proteins to be analysed in a single experiment. Our primary focus is the discovery of disease-specific biomarkers and their development for use as clinical diagnostics. This exciting approach leverages our expertise in molecular biology, proteomics and informatics. We currently have two vacancies within R&D.
These are full-time, permanent positions based initially in Maidenhead although they may relocate to Oxford Gene Technology's facility in Oxford early next year. A competitive benefits package will be provided. If you would like to apply for either vacancy, please send your CV and covering letter to hr@ogt.co.uk . The closing date for applications will be 1st December 2009.
We are seeking a graduate or a person with an equivalent qualification in biological sciences with substantial experience in protein biochemistry and assay development to join the R&D team discovering and developing biomarkers for disease. Roles will include assay of serum samples, data analysis, protein labeling and purification. Applicants with an industrial background would be preferred.
Applicants will be expected to have expertise in ELISAs and assay development, but experience with techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, protein labeling and purification is also required. Experience in the use or development of microarrays would be a distinct advantage. We require a motivated, clear thinking individual with attention to detail and the desire to make a significant contribution to the discovery of new diagnostic biomarkers and their development.
To apply for either vacancy, please send your CV and covering letter to hr@ogt.co.uk . The closing date for applications will be 1st December 2009.
We are currently in the process of expanding our automated high-throughput protein expression platform and an opportunity has arisen for a cell culture technician in our molecular biology group. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of insect cell culture and curation of baculovirus stocks. A methodical approach to your work and attention to detail will be important skills for this role.
A degree in the life sciences or an equivalent qualification is required together with relevant laboratory experience preferably in a cell culture or molecular biology environment. Previous experience with robotics, insect cells and baculovirus expression technology would be an advantage but is not essential as training can be provided. In addition, familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Access would be beneficial.
To apply for either vacancy, please send your CV and covering letter to hr@ogt.co.uk . The closing date for applications will be 1st December 2009.
