Nick Sleep

Nick has over fifteen years working in lifescience businesses. Before joining Sense Protoemic, he was Business Unit manager for the Informatics Business Unit at the Automation Partnership which implemented major Business Process Re-engineering projects within early-stage discovery. His original background was in Computer Science with Masters degree from UMIST. He also holds an MBA from Cranfield University. As well as working with Sense Protoemic, he presently spends his time supporting a number of early-stage lifescience companies with general management and business development expertise.

Phil Dobson

Phil Dobson brings 18 years of experience of working in the Life Science arena to his role. After graduating from the University of Sussex, he joined Amersham International working in roles in R&D and a number of commercial positions including Technology Specialist, Sales Specialist and Product Management. Phil has held positions in Global or Regional Marketing/Product Management with Amersham Biosciences/GE Healthcare and Invitrogen prior to joining Sense Proteomic.

Dr. Colin Wheeler

Colin Wheeler

Colin Wheeler is currently responsible for assay and product development at Sense Proteomic. Colin joined Sense Proteomic in 2003 following three years in the research and development team at Amersham Bioscience (now GE Healthcare) working on protein arrays and proteomics technologies. He has a B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Hull, UK and was awarded a lectureship in the National Heart and Lung Institute (Imperial College London Faculty of Medicine). During his academic career Colin gained a wealth of experience in protein chemistry and proteomics before joining industry in 2000. Colin has vast experience in the development of antibody and functional protein arrays and plays a key role in biomarker discovery using arrays at Sense Proteomic.

Dr. Mike McAndrew

Mike McAndrew

After being awarded his PhD at the University of Manchester in 1994, Mike spent three years studying gene expression and vaccine design in Heidelberg and Madrid. Following this, Mike was recruited by Celltech where he was responsible for molecular biology on several drug discovery programmes. He then joined Sense Proteomic in 2001 where he managed a group with responsibility for technology development. Following its acquisition by Procognia, Mike became Head of Molecular Biology.

Dr. Jens Koopmann

Jens Koopmann

Dr Jens-Oliver Koopmann Head of Analytical Research, was responsible for early assay development and protein QC from research to manufacturing, for the biopharmaceutical industry and the academic life science research. Jens is actively involved in developing software for automated array analysis. Dr. Jens-Oliver Koopmann has seven years of experience in biotech industry and worked for 9 years in academia at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Heidelberg (Germany) and at the Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research in London.
